Machining I

Price $300

Clever Air Motor

The class begins with a short, approachable classroom session covering safety, basic machine concepts, and how the tools work. From there, students move into the shop for guided, hands-on practice in small groups. Instruction is step-by-step and focused on learning by doing, with plenty of time for questions and support.

Through simple first projects, you’ll discover how mills shape flat surfaces and how lathes create round parts like shafts and pins. This class is ideal for makers, hobbyists, artists, tinkerers, and anyone curious about how everyday objects are made.  This class meets for 5 sessions.

This class includes 1 month of membership at the Foundry.
